SCHEDULES AND ITINERARY OF THE BOCAINA CROSSING:

First day:

07:00 - Meeting, presentations and check-in at the MW Trekking office located in the center of São José in Barreiro (be punctual so as not to compromise the departure time).

07:30 - Departure in collective driving to Sertão de Silveiras- (75km).

IMPORTANT: Any delay in the departure time will compromise the arrival time at the first inn; it will be 2 hours driving and 5 hours walking.

09:30 - Arrival at the starting point of the hike.

10:00 - Walk of 8km up the Mountain and following the crest of Bocaina reaching more than 1900m of altitude, until the first inn.

Note: Bring small snacks (cereal bars, fruit, etc.) to eat during the hike.

• Totally open route, with a lot of views of the mountains.

Tip: As the walk on this part of the path is on the crest of the Bocaina Mountain, turn off your cell phone, otherwise everyone will find you!

16:00 - Arrival at Pousada observatório da Bocaina (all participants should preferably carry a headlamp).

19:00 - Jantar: Rodízio de Massas ou Pizzas.

• Solenidade de carimbo no passaporte.
• Pernoite em pousada (O pernoite é em quarto triplo, não é necessário trazer roupa de cama. O banheiro é compartilhado com água quente).

NOTE - Tips to increase your comfort:

Leave your main backpack with your clothes, snacks for the other days and equipment in the MW Trekking car. Take only a small backpack with water, raincoat, sunscreen, flashlight and a snack on the hike.

Don't take weight, the biggest discomfort on this hike is a heavy backpack!

Second day:

07:00 - Breakfast.

08:00 - Start of the 15km walk along the Bocaina Mountain plateau, crossing the municipalities of Silveiras, Areias and São José in Barreiro.

12:00 - Stop for a bath and snack at Waterfall: dos Pilões.

13:00 - Continuation of the walk through Crossing of Bocaina.

Note: Bring small snacks (cereal bars, fruit, etc.) to eat during the hike.

14:00 - From Pinhal Farm in the municipality of Areias, we will transfer the group in the support Jeep to Recanto da Floresta Eco Lodge (municipality of São José do Barreiro) in two or more trips.

• Passage through the Ruins of Casa de Pedra.

15:00 - Arrival at Recanto da Floresta Eco Lodge.

15:30 - Afternoon lunch (country food made with perfection and abundance on a wood stove, fresh coffee and delicious homemade desserts).

• Sauna and indoor pool at Recanto da Floresta Eco Lodge.
• Fireplace and prose.

19:30 - Hot broths with oven toast and delicious homemade desserts.

• Solemnity of passport stamping.
• Overnight stay at Recanto da Floresta Eco Lodge (The overnight stay is done in triple rooms with shared bathrooms).

NOTE - Tips to increase your comfort:

At Recanto da Floresta Eco Lodge, you will receive a large plastic bag, put your clean clothes, equipment and lunch in it for the next two days. This bag will be transported to the colonist's house (a volume of up to 5 kg per participant). Send back to the MW Trekking office your larger backpack with dirty clothes and items that you will no longer use on the other days of the hike.

Third day:

07:00 - Breakfast.

07:30 - Time to check in the bag with your clothes and items that you will not use on the walk (a weight of up to 5kg per participant). Take only a small backpack with water, raincoat, bathing suit, sunscreen, flashlight and a snack.

08:00 - Transport of the group to the Bocaina Mountain National Park Headquarters.

• 21km hike in the Bocaina Mountain National Park.

13:00 - Visit, snack and bath at Bonito Waterfall.

Note: Bring small snacks (cereal bars, fruit, etc.) to eat during the hike.

• Passage through the beautiful view of Bonito Valley.

17:00 - Arrival at the colonist's house (all participants should preferably carry a headlamp).

19:00 - Dinner (abundant country food made on a wood stove).

• Solemnity of passport stamping.
• Overnight stay in a colonist's house (In the colonist's house there is no electricity, the overnight stay is done in triple rooms, it is not necessary to bring bed linen. The bathroom is shared and has a coil to heat the water).

Fourth day:

06:00 - Breakfast.

06:30 - Time to check in the bag with your clothes and items that you will not use on the walk (a weight of up to 5kg per participant). Take only a small backpack with water, raincoat, sunscreen, flashlight and a snack.

07:00 - Start of the 15km walk through part of the Garden Valley and through the hinterland of jaguar Valley.

12:00 - Stop for lunch and bathing at the beautiful Jacú Painted Waterfall, in the municipality of São José in Barreiro.

Note: Bring small snacks (cereal bars, fruits and others) to eat during the hike.

13:30 - From Jacú Painted Waterfall, we will transfer the group in the support van to the Inn Restaurant in two or more trips.

14:30 - Arrival at Brastel mountain, municipality of Bananal; Closing lunch at restaurant Inn.

• Last ceremony of stamping passports and delivery of certificates to those who completed the "Path of Bocaina"!

Note: Those who wish can hire an extra bath at restaurant Inn. Anyone wishing to take a shower should do so upon arrival at the restaurant and pay attention to the time so as not to compromise the schedule and time of return to São José in Barreiro.

16:00 - Descent from Bocaina Mountain in collective driving, passing through the town of Bananal, Arapeí and Bairro in Formoso on the way back to São José in Barreiro.

18:00 - Approximate time of arrival at the MW Trekking office in São José in Barreiro.

• Farewells and end of our services.

Note: We have a bathroom with shower in the MW Trekking office; those who wish to take a shower before returning can in so at no additional cost.
